David Jordan - MEN Arena (supporting Enrique Iglesias) - 8/11/07 by Rachel Hamer
David Jordan is 22 year old 'soul' man from Barnet in London. His debut album "Set The Mood" was released last week through Mercury records and he has already been asked to perform at this years Royal Variety Show. Not bad going for a lad who used to work at Starbucks.
A talented singer/songwriter he has a natural stage presence and is just what the popular music industry needs. His funky melodic pop tunes are crossed with rock guitars to create a very catchy style which is definitely reminiscent of the 80's.
He arrived on stage dressed in zebra print leggings and a bright red shirt and commanded the stage with his spins and hip thrusting movements which certainly gave the girls waiting to see Enrique something to think about.
He performed several tracks from the album, including the infectious "Place In My Heart" which was his debut. His next single "Sun Goes Down" which makes you feel like you should be partying around a camp fire and also a cover version of The Police's "Roxanne" which was an excellent take on an classic song.
His vocals were outstanding and you would compare him to a mixture of Lenny Kravitz, Prince and Justin Timberlake. He has charm, sex appeal and all the talents of somebody who could potentially become a huge star.
It's rare that you find an artist, who as a supporting act for somebody as well established as Enrique Iglesias leaves you wanting more but David Jordan certainly did that.
SUMMARY:
David Jordan is a young, fresh, sexy, soul singer who is fast on track to set the pop music industry alight!
