ONE TO WATCH: Daley

Daley hails from South Manchester, and has just made it past over 10,000 singers and bands across the country to perform at the live Manchester final of Live & Unsigned.

Daley is 20, and a promising upcoming Neo-soul/Jazz /R&B artist from Manchester, who writes his own material and is aiming for success within the music industry. Over the last few years he has worked his way through everything from small gigs around the city, to appearing on TV, to singing backing vocals for the likes of Rod Stewart on his last UK tour, and has even performed for the Queen live at Trafalgar Square in London. He is currently working on an album of original material, proving himself as a unique UK artist with rare vocal talent and song-writing ability.

Daley falls under the ‘Best Individual Male’ category, with the overall winner of the competition getting a Recording and management contract with Future Music with an investment of up to £20,000 invested in them to release a single with Future Music.

Live and Unsigned is a national music competition for unsigned bands and singer to compete live. With over 10,000 registrations in 2007 it is the biggest music talent search outside a certain ITV show. The difference with Live and Unsigned is that the acts taking part are encouraged to do their own thing; be individual, original, perform their own genre and style Live. The competition’s aim is to find potential recording artists with the National final being held in London.

The winner will be crowned the UK's best Live and Unsigned act in front of a capacity crowd, including many professionals from within the music industry. They will be thrust into the media spotlight through television, radio and the press and furthermore all winners are invited on the UK Live and Unsigned Tour afterwards. The tour involves as many as 100 gigs across the UK including the chance to perform live at some well-known festivals. This year’s competition boasts ITV coverage which is also planned for 2008.

Daley has made it past hundreds of acts through the first two stages of the competition, he is now preparing for the last regional heat where he will compete amongst seven other hopefuls in the Live Manchester show on the 6th April for a place in the Regional Final!
