The story picks up with Alejandro (BANDERAS) trying to keep his swashbuckling alter ego in check now that he is a responsible husband and father. However, when he breaks his promise not to don the mask and become Zorro once more, his wife Elena (ZETA JONES) leaves him. Elena begins dating the sinister Armand (SEWELL), sending Alejandro on a quest to win back his wife, discover Armand’s secret intentions and save the infant state of California.
